The debate on nuclear power, and the possibility of an about-face in Italy is increasingly taking part, to the point that it could become a leitmotif of the next election campaign for the renewal of the regional council. But since it seems a common ground: the study is prepared by the National Research Council, probably a first (and perhaps partial) update of a document that always returns when it comes to nuclear power in our country: the famous "Charter of sites" published in the seventies by CNEN (National Committee for the 'Nuclear Energy), which went to identify areas capable of locating nuclear plants.

The work dates back to 1979, and is therefore more than thirty years old. It is hardly necessary to point out that the predictions of the "site map" should be revised and updated especially in light of changes in the meantime from the seismological point of view of risk. In thirty years, unfortunately, the earth has danced many times, even in areas (as it was considered Molise own) that seemed low seismic risk. But it is interesting to note that it is the Charter of the CNEN Sites that projects the location of the plant in Termoli, indeed, to be even more precise, as we shall see shortly, at a point between the Adriatic coast and the province of Molise Foggia, which is so far free from the risk that can pick you up a central located.

In our opinion this is a rather remote possibility, given the high seismic risk area, but will still be the case to follow closely the evolution of the story, pointing out, for example, that after the tragic earthquake that shook Molise and the valley of Fortore the whole area was declared a high seismic risk, with the exception of the reservoir Occhito, which otherwise would have been forced to close its doors forever.
